​Purpose and Objectives

The Society is organized exclusively for charitable, historical and educational purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

The objectives of the Society shall be:
  • To recognize and record those individuals who were/are American Prisoners of War from 1607 through present day.
  • To educate, preserve and increase the knowledge of the history of American Prisoners of War by the preservation of documents and the recording of family histories, lineages, and traditions.
  • To be involved in charitable and educational efforts and to support patriotic, genealogical, literary, historical and social activities that further the purposes and objectives of this Society within our country.

​The Society may receive gifts and property, real and personal, subject to such conditions and upon such trusts as are not inconsistent with the purposes or restrictions of this Society.

Eligibility For Membership

​Membership is extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are direct lineal or collateral (brother or sister of a direct ancestor) descendants of an ancestor or themself who were an American Prisoner of War from 1607 through present day.​
